Why We’re Different / Our Manifesto
We believe:
-More rules and complexity does NOT equal more realism and accuracy.
-More counters and hexes do NOT make a game more realistic or accurate. It just slows the game down and wastes time.
-More factors and ratings crammed onto a 1/2″ counter do not make a game better.
-The value of a game is not measured in the number of rulebook pages it has, how many pieces and charts it comes with or how much it weighs. I don’t care about how many dollars per pound I spent. I’m not buying a sack of flour.
-God like knowledge of everything on the battlefield is NOT realism.
-Games that confront you with the unknown, teach you skills that help in the real world.
-Games with lots of unnecessary ‘work’ for players to do are NOT fun.
-Learning new valuable skills, is fun! Playing games is the way people learn the best.
-Games are better if they can teach you things that you can use in the real world.
-A game should teach you how to be a better team member, communicator or leader, NOT a better worker, accountant or engineer.
